Enjoy Euchre on your iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad!

Euchre is fun card game played by four people. In this version of Euchre, a deck of 24 cards is used. You play with a computer partner against two computer opponents. You will not be disappointed by the computer players - they know what they are doing.

Play against computer opponents who are beginners, intermediates, or experts. The score to win defaults to 10 points but it can be changed in the game options.

This is a great game to play when you only have a few minute or you can even play for a few hours… The cards are good looking, are easy to read, and are easy to move around. This game is a pleasure to play!

Potential is there if fixes are made

The AI doesn't make normal plays and trump leads like in real euchre. I make trump and my AI partner leads with two trumps taking or forcing me to use my trump cards which usually causes a euchre unnecessarily. My AI partner calls alone and then leads with the lowest trump in his hand. One time the AI did this yet the opposing AI didn't use a higher trump card to take that trick. It took the next trick with the higher trump card. AI leads on various tricks are completely unrealistic. Please base AI on realistic euchre played by humans.

Euchre game settings don't stay the same. I set the win total to 11 points but after restarting it resets to 10 points

After the game is over a "return to main menu" button is needed so you don't have to go back through the deal screen.

Statistics don't appear to be accurate but that may be because they record games that you don't play when backtracking through the deal screen to get to the main menu.

This game can be addicting but the AI unrealistic play makes it frustrating. The potential is there for this to be an outstanding euchre app but these and possibly some other issues need to be corrected.

Looking forward to the next upgrade. Thanks for a potentially great Euchre app.

Skill Level No Factor

Your opponent is ALWAYS given a trump card and Ace to whatever suit you call. Your partner calls bs and makes you lose, even when on expert it performs like a novice would.

Gameplay is goodlooking but the dynamic is screwy seeing as how your opponent will always have the cards to beat you, or at least a stopper....in every hand. Very irritating. Don't buy.

Addictive and fun but needs some more bells and whistles

The only bona fide bug: When I take up the card as dealer, I can’t see the first card played by the opponent to my left. The next two cards played tell me the suit, and the app prevents me from playing other cards when I’m holding one from the lead suit (an excellent feature) but in these situations I’m often playing my first card slightly blind.

There have been a handful of times over the 100s of games I’ve played where I thought, “Hey, how’d they win that trick?” I won’t call this a bug because the cards are quickly covered and set aside. It could be that I’m mistaken. But this minor concern brings up an enhancement I’d like to see: an option to review the last trick played.

I like that I don’t lose the three gold cups when statistics reset. I was worried about that possibility but then the statistics accidentally reset on me. This happens too often. There should be additional confirmation required before the reset occurs. I’d also like much more detail with the statistics.

The key to winning games is to bid and take risks. On expert, we euchre the opponent about 6-7 times the rate he euchres us, but we’re rarely able to bid so we have to rely heavily on euchres if we’re going to win. On beginner, both partner and I take risks and the AI opponent seems averse to risk so this dynamic is reversed. A 70% rate of winning hands leads to a near-perfect record with games. If you bid aggressively at the Beginner, you might get Euchered 3 or 4 times per game and still have a near perfect win record as the opponents are reluctant to bid and there are many misdeals. On Expert, you don't get a chance to bid -- aggressively or otherwise.

I think the main problem with Expert is not so much a matter of my partner’s bad AI as it is a matter of the cards being more favorable to our opponents. Then again, the beginner level cards may be more slanted to my partner and I. All the players make the occasional questionable plays in beginner but no more than human players. As another reviewer pointed out, there are no misdeals at Expert and, in my opinion, the opposing players seem to "know" each other’s cards. And maybe mine. It’s common for me to have a suit I’m ready to call, only to have the player to my right bid a suit that his partner should be bidding and that he has no business bidding with the non-bidding partner claiming 4 or 5 tricks, taking my two non-bowered jacks along the way. So I avoid expert and stick to beginner and intermediate play, both of which have an AI that I have no material complaints about, especially because I don’t want perfect AI play 100% of the time. I’m sure I frustrate my computer partner at least as much as he frustrates me in both beginner and intermediate play.

This would be a killer app if there was a teaching/learning mode where players could play Euchre without statistics being updated and have one or more of these options (a) see all of the cards, (b) get suggestions from the AI, (c) replay the hand (a back button?); (d) play all of the positions. Maybe even better, add an option where the user can select the cards being played in order to experiment. Or make this a separate app and call it Euchre U or Euchre Euniversity. Overall, this has helped me improve my play. The volume of hands I’ve logged plus the decent AI have taught me some things about Euchre play that I had not appreciated before. I can’t wait until the next Euchre Night to see if I can now smoke an all-human field.
